Thank you for expressing your interest in Hosting a Dome Workshop.
It is a bold move towards getting your Dome completed much faster and easier than building it yourself.
The Key to a successful workshop is PLANNING!
- Do you have a site in mind for the build?
- Is there sufficient land to conduct the workshop (10m x 10M) level land?
- What is the porpoise of the building?
- Do you have access to Power?
- Do you have access to Water?
- Is there sufficient space for up to 12 students to park, camp, access amenities?
- Is accommodation in the vicinity of your property?
- Do you have a tap/cover sufficient to cover the Dome Construction from the sun and rain (min 6m x 8m)?
The Workshops will be conducted over 2 weekends from 9am to 4pm. First weekend will be the Intermediate Aircrete Construction course and the following weekend will be the Advanced Aircrete Dome Building course. There will be a maximum of 12 students/weekend. As everyone on these courses will have completed the Basics of Aircrete Domes course the build should be well advanced by the time the 4 days are completed.
I would highly recommend attending a Basic Aircrete Workshop FIRST to get a feel for Aircrete valued @ $250. This Course Fee I will take off your Hosting fee if you decide to proceed with the Dome building on your property.
If you were to JUST do the 3 courses it would cost $750. You would have sufficient knowledge to build your own Dome. Then you would have to buy your OWN equipment!
As part of the Hosting Fee I will provide an Aircrete Foam generator (Valued @ $520), 90 x 20kg GP cement (Valued @ $630), Mixing Drill (Valued @ $100), Formwork for molds (Valued @ $500), Arch Forms (Valued @ $250), 4 ratchet straps (Valued @ $30), Aircrete Mixing tub ((Valued @ $100), 20lt Uni-Bond (Valued @ $100), Concrete Slurry Mixing tub (Valued @ $35), 20lt Bucket (Valued @ $15), 3 x 10lt Buckets (Valued @ $30), Sanding Rasp (Valued @ $25), Concrete trowel (Valued @ $8) , Hand Saw (Valued @ $8), Foam (Valued @ $10)
Total Value of equipment and training for you too KEEP will be $3150 of essential equipment and knowledge to successfully finish your Dome.
If you refer anyone to your Dome Workshops, I will refund you $100/ person. Of course they will have to attend the Basics of Aircrete Domes course first so we don’t waste time on building your Dome!
Now to the important part HOSTING FEES!
A total of $11 000 covers the Build over 2 weekends.
The whole Dome will not be completed, the majority of it will be competed. You will have enough block, material and knowledge to complete the Dome in your own time.
To reduce this cost to you. Each student pays $500 for both weekends, this comes off your HOSTING FEE! IF the courses are full then you take $6000 off If you refer anyone it will be even cheaper, I will give you an additional $100/ participant you refer to the course! Your Dome could be FREE (minus material costs), you could even make money?
The Dome workshop size is 3.5m in diameter. You will be responsible for having a Slab poured so the building can be constructed on a solid foundation. the slab requirements are below, they are essential for you to have a foundation that is not going to crack and cause building failure. The slab is required to be poured 2 weeks prior to the Workshop Photo evidence of slab will need to be provided 2 weeks prior to the commencement to the workshop.
